Seattle man accused of robbing perfume store in North Seattle at least 18 times finally arrested
Seattle, Washington – A man who is accused of stealing high-value items from the same Ulta Beauty store in North Seattle multiple times has been charged with new crimes by prosecutors in King County. Prosecutors say that the burglaries happened in at least 18 different occasions.
Court documents say that Dean Earl Corrick was charged with one count of organized retail theft. This is because investigators linked him to the theft of more than $1,500 worth of goods from a cosmetics store. The most recent event was on January 13, when Corrick allegedly went into the store and left without paying for $1,526 worth of perfumes.
Charging papers say that Ulta Beauty’s loss prevention team soon identified the suspect. A worker at the store told the police that the man had stolen from the establishment before and was known to be a repeat shoplifter. The loss prevention team sent the police a photo, and they were able to identify the suspect as Corrick. A manager reportedly told police that Corrick had stolen from the store at least 17 times before the January incident.
The police were given a physical description of the man, which included a teardrop tattoo under his left eye. At first, officers couldn’t find Corrick at the scene, so they proceeded to his home, which was classified as a Downtown Emergency Service Center facility. When he was not found there, security staff were asked to notify police if he returned.
Later that night, security contacted the police back as they saw Corrick outside the building. The police found him on a sidewalk close to North 143rd Street and Linden Avenue North and arrested him. After confirming his identity with store surveillance footage, officers advised Corrick of his rights and conducted a search.
During the search, police found three bottles of perfume that were the same as some that had been reported stolen from Ulta Beauty. One of the perfumes had a tracking device that was turned on before the theft and was sending signals to Corrick’s residence. The recovered items were returned to the store.

Additional fragrances were later found in plain view while officers attempted to return keys Corrick said belonged to his girlfriend. A tracker was also in one of those bottles. The girlfriend informed the police that she didn’t know where the things came from and that they weren’t hers.
Store management gave the police a list of the stolen items. The overall value was estimated to be $1,526, but roughly $676 worth of perfumes had not been found.
At Corrick’s first court appearance, prosecutors requested bail be set at $25,000, citing concerns about his history. The judge, on the other hand, set bail at $2,500. On Thursday morning, Corrick was charged with second-degree organized retail theft and pled not guilty. He has also said he is not guilty in another case of organized retail theft at the same store.

Court records show that Corrick has a long history of crimes, including 58 warrants issued in Washington since 2017. Prosecutors pointed out that he had been convicted of crimes in multiple states before and said that his past makes them concerned that he might not appear in court.
