Seattle police search for suspect after back-to-back stabbings leave two men hospitalized in separate Rainier Valley locations
Seattle, Washington – A quiet stretch of morning in South Seattle gave way to urgency as police began piecing together two violent encounters that unfolded within minutes of each other in the Rainier Valley.
The first call came just after 6:10 a.m., drawing patrol officers to the 8100 block of Rainier Avenue South. In a parking lot, they found a 33-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his leg. Emergency responders moved quickly, with officers and Seattle Fire Department personnel providing aid at the scene before transporting the man to Harborview Medical Center. He was reported to be in stable condition.
Even as that response was underway, another call redirected officers a short distance away. In the 8800 block of 36th Avenue South, a second victim was located—a 38-year-old man with a knife wound to his stomach. He, too, was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
As investigators began to connect the details, a clearer picture emerged. Police determined the two stabbings were linked, part of a sequence rather than isolated incidents. Authorities also confirmed that the suspect was known to the second victim, suggesting a prior connection that may hold key answers to what led to the violence.
The suspect had already fled by the time officers arrived at both locations, leaving behind unanswered questions and an active search. No arrests have been made.
Throughout the morning, patrol units worked both scenes methodically. Evidence was collected, photographs were taken, and investigators documented the surroundings in an effort to reconstruct the events that unfolded across the neighborhood.
What sparked the violence remains under investigation, with detectives continuing to examine the relationship between those involved and the circumstances that brought them together that morning.
Police are now asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Seattle Police Department’s Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000. Tips can be shared anonymously as investigators work to identify and locate the suspect connected to the case, logged under incident number 2026-74352.
