The Mystery of the Rats of Yale Place East

Someone has been feeding the wildlife on Yale Place East and no one knows who or why. When you walk down Yale Place East, around this point (below), you’ll start seeing some kind of a Cold War between rat traps and food trays.

On one hand, we have dozens of rat traps…

And on the other hand, we have dozens of food trays.

Usually there’s a fresh one up on the sidewalk, often full of something that looks like dry cat food.

There is clear signage posted.

And plenty of signs of the fact that rats have indeed been attracted.
