Shooting suspect wanted for July 5 nightclub shooting found and arrested
Seattle, Washington – The Seattle Police arrested a woman in connection to a shooting that took place in the late night hours on July 5 at the Showbox nightclub in South Seattle. The incident, which occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of 1st Avenue South, pushed customers running for safety in all directions.
The law enforcement officials state that the situation became violent when several women inside the nightclub started fighting physically. One of the women was attacked during the fight and turned and fired a gun into the ceiling, causing a chaotic exit of the venue as terrified clubgoers ran in different directions.
Seattle Police immediately responded to the 911 calls and quickly locked the property and ensure no further threats were present. The police on Tuesday confirmed they located and arrested the 35-year-old suspect near the 1900 block of 1st Avenue South. She was injured and taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The firearm used in the incident was seized and taken into custody as evidence. The Gun Violence Reduction Unit has since been assigned to spearhead the investigation, delving deeper into the circumstances that led to the violent outbreak.
