The fall festive season in Seattle starts soon
Seattle, Washington – Seattle is gearing up for an exciting season of fall festivities and Halloween thrills, with Seattle Parks & Recreation leading the charge. From costume carnivals to classic pumpkin carving events, the city is ready to provide a wide range of events appealing to all ages so every Seattleite may enjoy the festive excitement.
Festival highlights and family fun
The events start early autumn with Friday, September 13, the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival held in the International District/Chinatown Community Center. Those under 17 can enjoy a cultural feast of moon cakes, lantern illumination, and interesting activities from 4-6 PM for free. Sponsored by the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority, the event offers interactive games and educational handouts ideal for families wishing to honor the diversity of local customs.
The Northgate Community Center welcomes the locals to a hands-on Pumpkin Carving event on October 18, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Open to all ages at no cost, participants may create their own holiday wreaths from a range of seasonal greens. Those who want to give their houses a bit of seasonal elegance would find this do-it-yourself project perfect.
A night of ghoulish delight
From 6 to 8 PM, the Big Pumpkin Bash at Bitter Lake Community Center on October 19 promises carnival games, face painting, and seasonal beverages. Entry is $10; guests may also buy individual game tickets for $0.25. Participants are urged to bring a tinned food contribution, so this event is the ideal mix of Halloween thrills and community spirit.
Carnivals, costumes, and creepy celebrations
Maintaining the Halloween vibe, the Ballard Halloween Carnival on October 25 features games from 6 to 8 PM together with crafts and music. All ages can enjoy a festive environment with of prizes and goodies for a $10 entrance fee.
Loyal Heights Community Center increases the stakes that same evening with its Halloween at the Heights Bash. For $12 per participant, this event, which runs from 6 to 8:30 PM, boasts a fright fest with everything from musical challenges to carnival games. There are recommended costumes, and food will be sold; earnings will go toward local scholarships.
Haunted adventures and spooky swims
Held on October 25 and 26 at Magnuson Community Center, the Halloween celebrations get to a terrifying finale with the Magnuson Haunted House. For just $6, guests are invited to endure a frightful tour over haunted halls lined with terrifying surprises between 5 and 10 PM. This event intends to excite and cool guests of all ages.
On the lighter side, on October 25 Green Lake Community Center presents the Halloween Bounce and Swim. Appropriate for those two years of age and above, this free event combines public swimming where attendees may avoid floating pumpkins with carnival games. This is a different approach to classic Halloween activities, and participants are invited to donate canned food to help nearby food banks.
Engaging the younger crowd
October 25 marks the Halloween Carnival for Kids at the Garfield Community Center for the younger celebrants. Children twelve years of age and younger can have a free evening of spooky music, carnival activities, and face painting from 5 to 7 PM.
Closing the month, the Queen Anne Community Center hosts a Tot Carnival on Halloween day, October 31, from 10 AM to 1 PM. Toddlers are invited to dress up and enjoy activities and treats in a festive, kid-friendly surroundings at this free event.
